Gary and Brennan Sciascia Bring the Warmth of Arizona to Chilly Rhode Island
During our intense and snowy last several weeks of winter, it was particularly encouraging to have the high heat, preaching and sharing of Gary and Brennan Sciascia from Phoenix, Arizona, at a recent Sunday service.
The father/son team was in town to visit Brown University and agreed to inspire the congregation with a sermon and communion speech. Brennan, a junior in high school who is a disciple, pointed our hearts to the cross and explained some of the challenges of growing up in the church. Gary then preached very practically on whether you are a “feeler” or “thinker” and how that affects your view of God and His Word. His explanation of how we should blend traditions, reason, experience and scripture was very insightful and led to some powerful fellowship afterward.
The Sciascia family served God and His people in New England for many years on staff (in Hartford and Groton). In fact, Gary is a native of Boston. However, his missionary calling has sent him to the West for now. Let’s be grateful the wind of the Holy Spirit blew these two in our direction for one weekend and be praying for the church worldwide regularly.
