Leo and Ivey Mella love hospitality. They enjoy having people into their home, putting out Christmas lights and serving in our church in many ways.
But Leo’s ability to surprise us may have reached new heights as he invited all of the men of the church over to his home for breakfast on Saturday, January 2, to kick off the new year. Of course, fellas will show up for food quickly.

The surprise, however, was that this was an outdoor breakfast! Praise God that this was not a normal January, New England day. Though it was breezy and chilly – the grill, fellowship and occasional runs inside to the restroom warmed our bodies. The spiritual fun and bonding also warmed our souls.

Let’s take a note from the Mellas and remember that there is nothing better than taking time out with God and His people. Though we can be tempted to be loners or lazy, Christ’s will is that we encourage one another often and that goes way beyond Sunday mornings.
