Vincent Pitts and Joanna Washington are new members of our church. They have been around us for quite a while – studying the Bible and making friendships. Following some challenges they found in Scripture, a while back – Vincent moved out of the apartment they shared so he could live a life pleasing to Jesus. That brought about some extra financial challenges and some emotional obstacles for them both as well. However, they trusted God that His way was the right one. Joanna was baptized and Vincent was restored at a powerful, past service.

On Sunday, January 3, Joanna shared how the cross of Christ has changed her life dramatically within the last year. Then Vincent spoke and compared Christ’s love to his heart for Joanna. In a surprise moment, Vincent pulled out an engagement ring and proposed in front of the astonished crowd and a teary Joanna. She said, “Yes!”

What an amazing picture of Jesus and his bride, the church! Many family members came out for this event, which will be remembered by us all for years to come. Veteran disciple, Melody Jafferian, shared that in all her years in the church – she had never seen a morning like this one with an engagement in front of the entire church.
