Christmas Party 2018 – Food, Fellowship and Fun

On Friday, December 14, the Ocean State Church of Christ gathered in Pawtucket for our annual Christmas party.  Members, friends and children showed up at Boulevard Banquet Hall for a time of eating, playing games, dancing and more.

The potluck meal began after a powerful prayer by visiting guest, Doug Purdue.  After the buzz of eating and talking wore down, a series of Christmas games ensued – Backwards Christmas Carols, Act and React, and Christmas Telephone got people guessing, pantomiming, and laughing.

The hit of each year is the concluding “12 Days of Christmas” song.  Bob Sherman again acted as the sole partridge in a pear tree, and all joined in as maids a milking, geese a laying, etc.

Finally, “Happy Birthday” rang out in English and Spanish for Angelica Mercado, while Jody Martins’ ran in with a cake.

Some of the families then began to exit, while the younger crowd was just getting started.  Leo Mella DJ’ed some music to dance with.  Thankfully, there was an end time (or we’d still be there) and all chipped in to clean up and put the room back in order.
