Eight Disciples Participate in Providence Campus Swap
For their spring break week, most college students head off to Florida or some sunny destination for rest, relaxation and thrills. Eight college age students from around the Northeast had a different and radical idea. They came to Providence, RI, to share, bond, have fun, sacrifice and make memories during their “off week.”
Each day, a different campus was targeted. Each day also had its own unique version of fun – a trip to Newport or Watch Hill; a mall visit or a movie was on the schedule.
From Rhode Island College to Roger Williams to Brown University and beyond, Bible Talks were held and individual studies were begun. The first day, at RIC, began with a bang, where after sharing for a while, five friends showed up for the Murvi Babalola led discussion group.
On the final day, a bonding devo involving tossed yarn and sharing cemented the relationships that had been connected from Boston, New York, Worcester and Southern Connecticut.
We believe that God will bless this one week for an eternity to come and will always be impressed by the hearts of these eight who were willing to give up something so others could gain.
