JWU Student Runs Around Obstacles to Follow Jesus

A New Jersey high school student graduated and headed off to JWU to pursue his degree in the culinary arts.  This was not big news.  However, the fact that God brought a lover of Jesus in contact with others of like mind recently is the epitome of good news.  On June 30, Nate Pasquarello, captain of the JWU cross country team, was baptized into Christ.  It was a glorious church service and a spectacular day.

Sunday, June 30, was planned as a married ministry neighbor day event.  Greg and Leanne Martin from Kittery, Maine, were our guest speakers (by the way – they were excellent back in their day in track).  Their sharing and lesson on “Me + You & God” was tremendous and inspirational.

The worship team was also in zealous form.  Newer songs like “Good, Good Father;” “Lilly in the Valley” and “Blessed” shared powerful notes and strong lyrics.

But the service’s conclusion was the highlight.  Nate was shared about by Bible study partners Hakeen Jacobs, Patrick Bowry and Christian Figueroa.  Then he was immersed.  The old man died.  The new one came to life.

Nate is a runner.  Though his life has not always been easy up to this point – he has learned the lessons of perseverance and toughness.  Now, with God and his spiritual family, he is committed to the Biblical marathon of life and its glorious end in heaven.
