In 1968, Roy Jacuzzi invented and marketed the first self-contained, fully integrated whirlpool bath by incorporating jets into the sides of the tub (now known as jacuzzis).
On February 14, 2017, Kevin Ortiz was baptized in a jacuzzi at David Sam’s apartment in Providence. It was a fantastic Valentine’s Day present to God and a historic moment for hot tubs worldwide. No matter how mankind has functioned using hot tubs previously, jacuzzi’s have now officially been used for God’s purposes eternally in Providence and by his providence.
The night began with lots of sharing at 1 Wayland Avenue to encourage Kevin prior to his baptism. Many college students, a few older guys (yes, this refers to you, Leo) and Kevin’s dad turned out for the inspirational evening. Kevin himself shared about the challenging road which led him to this important decision. Following his declaration of faith that “Jesus is Lord,” Daniel, Sam and others lowered him into the waters of baptism and out again.
After the exciting event, the campus sisters had made cupcakes and all types of goodies as a tool for ongoing celebration.
Kevin attends CCRI (Community College of Rhode Island), on both campuses in Lincoln and Warwick. He also drives for Uber, where he was originally met by Asia Stevens.
We praise God for his decision and commitment. His courage should encourage us all to continue to go new places and become new creations daily in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17).
