Dr. David Sam has taken on the responsibility of overseeing our Rhode Island HOPE chapter, as we attempt to reach out and touch the poor and needy of our community. In his first act as chairman, he & others helped organize a Christmas party on Cranston Street in Providence for underprivileged kids.
On Saturday, December 8, from 1-6 PM volunteers helped the kids enjoy the holidays in a number of ways. Face painting, Santa making (out of socks, glitter and more), cookie decorating, hallway bowling and a host of activities allowed the children to begin the party with a bang and some love.
Later on, food was served and then presents were opened to the delight of the crowd. Live music added a festive element to the afternoon as well.
Thanks to all who donated presents, brought food and oversaw children’s activities. Jesus’ heart for the children should be ours as well (Matthew 19:14). It is great to serve.
