Every Mother’s Day is special. We enjoy the warmer weather being around and the strong emotions the day brings. For this specific event, we got several boosts of encouragement at our May 8 th service on the campus of Rhode Island College.

Over 100 people entered the Clarke Science building at approximately 10:30 AM. Nijo and Latrice Burton welcomed the excited crowd. Their oldest son, Nijo, surprised his mom and overcame his shyness to read a powerful letter of love to his special mother. Following a moving video (see it below), Jasper Jafferian and Lindsey Mella also shared of their love for their moms. They represented all of our children who are so grateful for the powerful women God has placed in their lives.

A fantastic guest preacher, Matt Webber, was the speaker of the hour. His lovely wife, Veronique, also came and celebrated her first Mother’s Day with us (as she is two weeks away from delivery). Matt reached on “Zeal For This House” from John 2:13-22. Matt shared about zeal killers and zeal secrets that can keep us on fire for God no matter what the circumstances are around us.

After service, many went off to celebrate Mother’s Day luncheons and take our zeal to the world. God is moving in mighty ways in Providence this month and we are especially grateful to our moms and the Webbers for inspiring us on this special Sunday.
