Easter Sunday Celebrates Jesus’ Death, Burial & Resurrection . . .
And Eddie’s Too!

On Sunday, April 1, the Ocean State Church of Christ was blessed with our largest attendance ever on Easter. We praise God that He allowed so
many people to flow into our service, even on a long weekend when many of our members were out of town.

During the exciting hour and a half service, the singing was electric, the prayers and sharing was heartfelt and the kids’ kingdom was super-charged
(perhaps because of the egg hunt which took place after service).

But the definite highlight of the day was the baptism of Eddie Evans. Eddie is a freshman at Johnson and Wales University, studying the culinary
arts. Eddie was initially met and introduced to our church by Quan and Myles. Their friendship and his eagerness for the gospel has been amazing to witness. A group of 7-8 JWU students came out to witness his immersion and be a part of this special day. Both Quan and Myles blamed allergies or getting dust in their eyes, but they were emotional as they spoke of their best friend and new brother. Eddie, too, spoke of gratitude to God and all those he has been influenced by (special shout outs to Admir and Alden).

The lesson of the day was about needing the power of Christ’s resurrection to stay unified, no matter our age, sex or race. To see these three men stand before the crowd and speak of their love was a fitting mountain-top experience of the day.

May we constantly thank God for His power at work within us. He is mighty. And on this day, we realized in a special way – He is mighty to
save!
