On Saturday, September 10, a crew of Worcester disciples traveled down to Providence to go knocking on doors in the neighborhoods surrounding Rhode Island College along with Providence disciples as we shared for our upcoming neighbor day service.
On the Sunday to follow, at least seven friends came out to visit our Sunday event directly from the door knocking. The September 11th service was the prelude to our large, fall kick-off Sunday. At this service, the theme was “Dry Bones Can Live Again” from Ezekiel 37. We had a special visitor at service that day – Martha, a skeleton borrowed from a biology class.
A skeleton is really the way most of the people in Rhode Island look spiritually – dry without the eternal springs of God. Those bones are also like our faith can be if we don’t watch it – stale and belonging to a live body from long ago.
Praise God that He can take our very dry bones and turn them into “a vast army” alive and fighting for Him. He can do that in our state as well! Let’s be inspired that no matter our struggles or situations – God can make dry bones live again!
