Monthly Congregational Cookouts Highlight Food, Fellowship & Fun

Last year, our church began a tradition of having monthly cookouts during the summer. Our first one took place on Friday, May 11, at Lincoln Woods State Park. As is usual, Leo Mella took over the cooking role – with sausages, chicken, burgers, hot dogs and more. All of our members chipped in with side dishes, drinks and desserts as well.

God blessed us with a beautiful evening to gather. Many of the younger crowd took to the fields for soccer, frisbee, football, hiking and a host of activities. The older crowd tended to eat and catch up on life with each other.

The life of a disciple is intense and serious and focused. But it can also be fun, exhilarating and bonding. We are so grateful God has put us together in this amazing time and this beautiful land. Let’s celebrate life, family and Jesus every day. I’m looking forward to our next cookout on June 15.
