On Friday, September 30, the campus and teen ministries gathered at the home of Paulo and Jody Martins. The Lincoln and North Attleboro Bible Talks served as hosts for the event.
But before all of the food and games began – Joshua Santana, a junior pre-med major from Rhode Island College was baptized into Christ. Josh was initially met over six months ago during the week of the campus swap.
Though his change was not completely over night, he has come on strong recently and has been an encouraging light sharing about his times with God, initiating phone calls to disciples and bringing out a friend to last week’s Bible Talk.
After the immersion, a song and a prayer – Asia Stevens took over as the mistress of ceremonies for several Minute-To- Win-It competitions. A variety of activities including stacking pennies, eating applesauce blindfolded, building structures with spaghetti strings and more created memories, caused laughter and bonded college students with the younger crew present.
Last but not least – the desserts came out. Food and fellowship ruled the later part of the evening. Music was played. Clean-up was conducted. And an eternity changing night was complete.
