Providence Hope Chapter Helps to Save Our Bay

Here is a note from Meredyth Whitty regarding our service day to clean up Providence Bay…

“Thanks to all of you for making our cleanup on Saturday a success! I think we were really effective, and I hope you all got the same satisfaction that I did in making our ocean and land safer and cleaner for people and wildlife.

Here’s the photo we took at the end, along with a scan of our tally sheet detailing the trash collected. We collected a total of 451 pounds of trash in 31 trash bags, plus many larger unbagged items. While this was one of the tamer years in weird trash, I’d say the 25-foot ruler (not folding. Like a huge yard stick.) was about the strangest thing found. That seemed pretty useful to me. I was tempted to take it home, except I drive a Corolla, and it was missing the first three inches. Although it wasn’t a category, I reported that we found many items of clothing, based on what everyone told me at the end.

Thanks to all of you for getting up early, doing lots of bending, dragging and annoying recording, and making our earth a better place!
