Restoration Sunday Celebrated the Coming Home of George Webb

People poured into the Clarke Science auditorium on the Rhode Island College campus on Sunday, February 21. More than 100 people made their way inside. They came from Providence, all around Boston, and beyond. Many visiting dignitaries showed up to see the monumental occasion of George Webb being restored to Christ and His church.

George Webb was reached out to back in the 1990’s in Boston by Samuel Findley (who came to see this glorious day). George then reached out to Vincent Pitts, Maurice Perry and a host of others back in the day. Sadly, Satan derailed George and he spent 12 years wandering back into the deep, dark, sinful world. As only a miraculous God story can do, in the past few months through the prayers and efforts of many – George has humbled himself, repented and come back to his Father and the church.

On this special Sunday, we heard sharing from Charles Bradley, Paul Jones, Maurice and Michelle Perry, Dr. David Sam, and Vincent Pitts. Then newly baptized Fall River disciple, Nijo Burton, led a prayer for George’s life and future.

The sermon of the day focused on Moses from Hebrews 11:23-29. He too had to “dream again,” after floundering in his first 80 years and failing to be Israel’s deliverer. But God can take any of us at any age and fulfill His purposes. It was an exciting day to see that very point played out in the lives of George, Vincent, Maurice, Paul and all of us who attended.
