Two Facilities and Services Call Us To Look Back and Ahead

On Sunday, October 18, our congregation celebrated the ending of an era as we worshipped for our final time at The French-American School of Rhode Island. Will Walter, special guest from Hartford, spoke passionately on the topic of “Perseverance,” and then we all put up chairs and descended the three flights of stairs for our final time.

The next week, October 25, we opened a new facility for Sunday morning services on the East Campus of Rhode Island College (RIC) in the Forman Center at 10:30 AM. Many came early to figure out the new plan for setting up kids’ kingdom, the sound system, communion and more. The service opened up with a surprise visit by some bees. After that initial shock, a more normal series of songs, prayers and thoughts were lifted up in a new setting. The band came out in full force with the special addition of Jim Wick on the drums.

At the end of the day, God’s work and church do not actually revolve around a building. There are always strengths and weaknesses of them all. For people to come, we must invite them. For God to be praised, we must examine and open up our hearts. For fellowship to be deep, we must stay and and talk.

We are very grateful to God for places to meet – past and present – and look forward to the new journey ahead at RIC. Come join us and bring a friend.
