Jenny Contreras Baptized Into Christ

On Sunday, November 13, the Ocean State church began a three-week series called “Vanishing.” The title came from a short movie which showed a husband drifting further and further into sin. As he did, all he prized began to disappear – his money, his possessions, his children and his wife. Finally, he called out to Jesus for help, and his own body was saved from evaporating.

As we began the series talking about openness with our sins to usher in God’s forgiveness, it was appropriate that Jenny Contreras would be baptized in front of family and friends to have her sins washed away.

Jenny has long been best friends with Deisy Morales. Through her influence and then that of many others, Jenny began to examine what she believed and how she lived. After attending a Northeast campus retreat, this Rhode Island College student made the decision to make Jesus Lord of her life. Jenny, Deisy, Jiayin Sperry and Asia Stevens all now have this great single sister’s household in Providence.

God is doing some amazing things in our campus ministry and at RIC. Keep praying and believing that God can turn our world upside down and “vanish” all of our sins for His glory.
